Over the last couple of years, both nail polish and gaming have travelled across the gender spectrum and pretty much blurred out the traditional feminine and masculine lines. Mainstream adaption of gaming for women surged during the pandemic, and the ”malepolish” phenomena is going strong with the likes of Harry Styles and Tyler, the Creator leading the way.
As a sign of the times, game console manufacturer Xbox and nail polish manufacturer OPI have teamed up in a new spring-ready nail polish line. The drop consists of twelve shades that all unlock different skins on Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite.
Gamers can redeem the skins by providing proof of purchase via OPI’s website, as well as buying $20 worth of polish via Ulta Beauty. The latter specifically unlocks the Sex on the beach-reminiscent Ford GT in Forza Horizon, which matches the Trading Paint shade.
Colours with quirky names such as Heart and Con-soul, Can’t CTRL Me, and Pixel Dust are already available in the US, and will be available on February 12 at Scandinavian online retailers Kicks and Lyko.
