The Japanese beauty brand can now present brand new research findings on the signature active ingredient, Koishimaru Silk.

— Beyond its well-established ability to support the skin’s natural synthesis of hyaluronic acid,  Koishimaru Silk has now been shown to deliver additional visible benefits, she says. These latest findings indicate that it promotes collagen and elastin synthesis, which is in vitro tested, and enhances skin radiance and resilience, while improving smoothness. All in all, it helps to achieve a refined, luminous finish.

More generally, what are your end consumers looking for now?

— Quality and visible results, of course, but today’s luxury beauty consumer is also seeking meaning, rarity, and distinction. They are drawn to exceptional and natural ingredients, refined craftsmanship, and a heritage that conveys authenticity and expertise. Luxury is no longer only about performance; it is about origin, artistry, and the story behind.

— At the same time, they expect sophisticated science and long-term skin respect. They want products that elevate their daily ritual into a sensorial experience while delivering measurable benefits. Ultimately, they are investing not just in skincare, but in confidence, identity, and a statement of personal standards.

We now experience a rise in science-driven beauty. It’s easy to assume that you can benefit from that.

— This rise of science-based beauty confirms what we have always believed: true luxury is based on expertise, research, and measurable results. Today’s consumers are better informed and more discerning, Kleiner shares. She continues:

— Thanks to our innovations and advanced research, we understand the biology of the skin. By translating complex science into sophisticated, sensorial, and very gentle formulations, we can offer products that satisfy both the intellect and the emotions, enabling long-term skin health while preserving the elegance and experiential dimension that define true luxury.

According to Kleiner, one of the most significant changes in the industry is the convergence of luxury, science, and responsibility.

— Beauty is no longer driven solely by desire, but by evidence, transparency, and long-term value. Today’s consumers are very well informed and expect both emotional stories and scientific evidence. It is important to build lasting trust.

— Companies are paying more attention to sustainability, which means that products are refillable. However, we are seeing differences between countries in this regard. Ultimately, resilience in this market increasingly depends on a clear identity. In a saturated environment, brands that take a clear stance, based on tradition, innovation, or philosophy, will remain relevant in the long term.
