USED ICONS launches curated secondhand marketplace for design classics
A new Swedish startup is bringing ease, trust, and design curation to the booming secondhand furniture market.
2 May 2025

Stockholm-based tech startup USED ICONS has officially launched its full-scale platform and physical showroom, marking a significant development in the intersection of design and digital commerce. Positioned as Sweden’s first curated marketplace for secondhand interior design, the company aims to simplify and elevate the resale of iconic design pieces.

The platform offers a seamless end-to-end service – from valuation and listing to pickup and delivery – removing the typical frictions associated with secondhand sales. With a focus on trust, transparency, and design integrity, USED ICONS is targeting a growing global market for premium pre-owned design.

– We’ve created something that hasn’t existed in Sweden before – a new kind of secondhand experience that refines and reshapes how people buy and sell design, said Martin Trap, CEO and co-founder.

In addition to the digital platform, USED ICONS has opened a showroom in Stockholm’s Slakthusområdet, designed to provide a tactile and curated experience for both buyers and sellers. The space functions as both a gallery and advisory centre, where visitors can explore select items in person.

– The secondhand market holds enormous potential, but we saw a need for a platform that eliminates the hassle without compromising on quality or trust, said Leo Forssell, co-founder and Head of Curation.
