The resell market continues to fragment into niche categories, with subcultures driving demand for specific eras, aesthetics, and brand stories. Vintage workwear is the latest to benefit, appealing to buyers seeking both fashion credibility and functional heritage.

Vintage menswear, particularly 90s-era workwear, is experiencing a sharp upswing on Tradera. The platform reports growing demand for brands like Marlboro Classics and Carhartt, with bidding wars pushing prices to new highs.

A Marlboro Classics “Detroit Work Jacket” from the 1990s recently sold for 5 000 SEK, with several similar pieces reaching over 4 500 SEK. Carhartt’s Detroit jacket from the same period regularly sells for more than 2 000 SEK.

According to Tradera’s press manager Sofia Hagelin, the trend reflects a broader resurgence in durable and character-rich menswear.

“We’re seeing strong demand for authentic 90s workwear. The bidding patterns show that both collectors and style-conscious buyers are looking for jackets with attitude, history and quality,” says Hagelin.

As platforms like Tradera become more curated and trend-aware, this signals a broader evolution in how second-hand fashion is consumed and valued.
