I’m writing these lines on an old X2000 train rolling back to Stockholm from the south of Sweden, where we’ve just produced a new podcast series together with one of Sweden’s largest textile innovation companies. It’s busy days at Scandinavian MIND, so here comes a short rundown of what we’ve been up to the past few weeks:

  1. Our new website

I’m regularly impressed by the work of my colleagues, but this week our creative director Erik Olofsson Haavikko deserves an extra shoutout. For the past few months, he has been working overtime finalising our new website with a special team of hired professionals. Our former website was built with duct tape and dedication in 2020 and was due for a renovation. Improved typography and reading, massively faster loading times, and an overall better structure based on our core themes: Fashion Transformation and Beauty Innovation. Expect more updates and tweaks in the weeks to come.

  1. Upcoming Transformation Conference

Speaking of collaboration: we are currently planning our upcoming editions of Transformation Conference, which once again comes to Helsinki at the end of May, and in Stockholm at the end of August. News for this year is that we are looking to add Copenhagen to the schedule. The event has always been about bringing people from the tech and fashion industries together to discuss upcoming challenges and opportunities, not least in light of the upcoming EU regulations. If you want to participate as a speaker or partner in any of these cities, don’t hesitate to reach out: [email protected]

  1. Upcoming secret podcast series

As previously mentioned, we are doubling down on our podcast offering this year, with a special partner in a fashion-tech organisation. I hate to keep you in suspense – there will be more on this very, very soon – but having spent the last few weeks deep-diving into the world of textile recycling has given me a much deeper understanding of a buzzword of the fashion industry that people talk about a lot, but seldom fully grasps: Collaboration. This time we are also collaborating with the professional team at Smothviews for improved production values. Big shout out to Daniel Brazier and the team for being such heroes during this production. Can’t wait to share the result.
