Since the start in 1993, Designtorget has contributed to making many Swedish and Scandinavian designers and innovators successful by launching their new designs and innovations. The idea for their latest initiative, Illustrationer (Illustrations), head of marketing Ulrika Nilsson tells, emerged last fall.

— We wanted to do something we are passionate about, promoting different artists’ talents and connecting them to our customers. We decided to do a collaboration with six different artists — Elin PK, Madelen Möllard, Genet Solomon, Alexander Adiels, Hanna KL, and Josefin Tolstoy. In the project they painted one of our most well-known products, the stool Emil, turning them into colourful pieces of art, each exhibiting a unique expression.

The stools will be sold to the highest bid at the auction site Tradera on Sunday, February 20.

— The profit is donated to the non-profit organization Nya Kompisbyrån, which is working to create integration in our society for new citizens in Sweden. This is an important collaboration that we want to continue with in the future, Nilsson concludes.

All six of them are available to see in a special exhibition at Designtorget’s store on Götgatan 31 in Stockholm until March 6.
