Aiming to highlight the positive aspects of the second-hand market and encourage a more climate-conscious wardrobe, the two players join forces with the Shipped Fresh campaign.

Electrolux has used the modern washing programs from its PerfectCare series to gently wash and refresh 2,000 garments with a steam function. It was done at Sellpy’s warehouse (to minimize extra transports) and will be available for sale during a promotional period online.

— Our goal is that by 2030, clothing will last twice as long, and its environmental impact will be halved. Through this collaboration, we want to shift focus to all the fantastic benefits of second-hand clothes. We want to show how to build a personal and straightforward wardrobe that is kind to the environment with much simpler means, says Vanessa Butani, VP Group Sustainability, Electrolux.

— We think it is inspiring to offer professionally washed garments together with Electrolux. And get even more people to choose second hand instead of new clothes, says Gustav Wessman, Sweden manager, Sellpy.

When buying a garment, the customer will also get a guide with updated washing instructions and advice from Electrolux’s report The Truth About Laundry, to help care for the clothes with sustainability in mind.

Over the past year, Sellpy has established itself in Germany, The Netherlands, and Austria. This week, the company expands its e-com to 20 new European countries, including Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Finland, France, Spain, Portugal, Romania, and Poland. Speaking of Poland, that’s also where the startup will be a part of co-owner H&M Group’s Global Supply Chain division’s modern warehouse, located in Poznań. It will handle goods for customers outside Sweden to meet the growing demand from European customers.

— The demand in our new markets is growing fast and therefore it is incredibly fun that we continue to expand so that we can offer more customers in Europe an opportunity to live more circular, says Sellpy’s Gustav Wessman.
