Striving to bridge the gap between luxury and contemporary fashion, Copenhagen-based label ISNURH’s designs boast a distinctive and rare aesthetic, co-founder Kasper Todbjerg explains.
— We work with a combination of premium fabrics, unique prints, and meticulous attention to detail, he says.
S|STYLE sustainable style is Pitti Uomo’s own-brand platform dedicated to promoting sustainable practices. This week, the organisation announced a new partnership with Kering’s Material Innovation Lab (MIL) for the 7th edition of the event at Pitti Uomo 104, taking place in Florence in the middle of June. It will showcase 10 international and diverse brands scouted from around the world by journalist and curator Giorgia Cantarini, and ISNURH is one of the chosen ones.
— We are thrilled. Being chosen for this highlights the growing interest and attention towards emerging designers, and we are grateful to be part of this movement, says Todbjerg.
Why do you think you were selected?
— We believe that Giorgia (Cantarini, Ed’s note) recognized the potential of our brand to bring something fresh and unique to the fashion industry.
And what is that? How do you work with material innovations and such?
— We are passionate about impacting the fashion industry and we are quick to implement initiatives to achieve this. These include the use of biodegradable fabrics, waterless printing technology, regenerated fibres, and deadstock materials, which allow us to create our designs with minimal impact on the environment. Additionally, we work with a micro-factory right here in Copenhagen to ensure our production process is efficient and environmentally friendly.
What will you show in Florence?
— Our Spring Summer 2024 collection, which is inspired by the choices we make in life and the journey that we embark on, says Todbjerg. It’s about the people we meet along the way, the friendships we make, and the obstacles we face. We have meticulously crafted each piece to embody the essence of the theme, representing the highs and lows of life. The collection will feature a range of sustainable offerings, including regenerated fibres and long-lasting pieces that are both stylish and eco-friendly. This collection will be showcased globally through our new agents and distributors, which is a huge step for us, and we’re thrilled to take on this responsibility.
