Last year, air-purifying company Blueair saw strong 3-digit growth in the EMEA markets. In March, after years of development, they launched HealthProtect, their most advanced air purifier ever. It combines three new and revolutionary technologies — HEPASilent Ultra, GermShield, and SpiralAir — and provides protection against viruses and bacteria, even when it is on standby. HEPASilent Ultra is their most advanced filtration technology to date and combines electrostatic and mechanical filtration to remove up to 99.97 % of airborne pollutants, such as dust, pollen, dander, and mould. The technology also removes VOCs, including formaldehyde, odours, and nanoparticles down to 0.03 microns and up to 99.99 % of viruses and bacteria. The company also claims that hepaSilent Ultra uses 55 % less energy and less noise than traditional HEPA filtration.

How do your innovations contribute to better living?

— If you think you are safe from pollution in your home, think again, Alexander Provins, director EMEA, states. The air inside our homes is up to 5 times more polluted than on the street — and we spend about 90 % of our time indoors. Our homes contain everything from dust, cooking fumes, and chemicals released from paint, furniture, and cleaning agents. Add to that polluted outdoor air making its way into our homes through ventilation — and you’ve got a cocktail of toxins floating around between your four walls. Good news is you can easily improve your indoor air. Ensure good ventilation, vacuum often, avoid unnecessary chemicals, and put an air purifier in the rooms where you spend most of your time.
