Editor’s Letter
Welcome to a platform bridging lifestyle and technology
Our Editor-In-Chief on the launch of Scandinavian MIND.
24 Aug 2020

This is a very special column to write. Today — after months of thinking, planning, designing, and writing — we are officially launching our new editorial platform Scandinavian MIND.

This might seem like an odd timing to launch a new journalistic venture. The year 2020 has been difficult for all of us. The future is uncertain. The market is unpredictable. But that is exactly why this is the right thing to do, and the right timing to do it.

Whether you are working in fashion, media, design, tech, or other, the need for inspiration, positive thinking, and creative ideas on how to transform our world is greater than ever.

Some of you will recognize that the people behind Scandinavian MIND also worked on Scandinavian MAN, a platform for Nordic lifestyle brands that lived between the fall of 2017 and the spring of 2020. With me on this new journey is our creative director and co-founder Erik Olofsson, fashion director Ursula Wångander, news editor Johan Magnusson, and a wide network of talented creatives.

”We realized that we should focus on collaboration, and how industries need to converge”

When the coronavirus crisis hit us in early March, we started to take a long, hard look at how we should use our storytelling capabilities. We realized that we should focus on collaboration, and how industries need to converge in order to survive and thrive in the months and years to come.

Scandinavian MIND is a magazine and a platform for a better world, covering the intersection of lifestyle and technology. Our mission is to shine a light on the people, projects, places, and products that impact the world in a positive way.

Our website will feature a mix of daily news and intelligence, expert opinion and views, as well as in-depth reporting on the worlds of art, fashion, design, science, technology, mobility, and more.

In early October, the first edition of our biannual print magazine will be published. And later that month, we will host The Transformation Conference, a special event that will gather leading minds in fashion, interior, and technology. Both digitally and physically at Alma’s Park, Stockholm.

More on this in the weeks to come. If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email. We hope that you will come along for the ride. We are certain it will be a fascinating one! •
