Launched in 1994 and known as the first unisex fragrance, CK One evolved into CK Everyone Eau de Toilette in early 2020 and, this season, into CK Everyone Eau de Parfum. It opens with a juicy organic orange note and at the heart, responsibly sourced Black Tea from Sri Lanka — a key ingredient continuing a tradition of tea notes in the CK One family — provides intensity. The base note exudes woodiness from responsibly sourced Vetiver from Haiti. Alberto Morillas, the master perfumer and creator of the CK One and CK Everyone Eau de Toilette fragrances, has created also the new citrus woody launch, together with principal perfumer Franck Voelkl and senior perfumer Gabriela Chelariu.

Both the glass flacon and outer packaging are created from recycled materials, the transparent glass contains 10% of post-consumer recycled materials and the folding carton contains 30%. The glass bottle and carton can be recycled if they are managed through the local recycled stream, depending on the country where it’s sold and distributed. The vegan formulation contains 77% of ingredients from natural origins and is sourced with naturally-derived alcohol.

As the first fragrance, it has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified Gold level. It’s the highest level of Cradle to Cradle, a global standard for products that are safe and responsibly made, with performance verification across five categories, including Product Circularity (enabling a circular economy through regenerative products, packaging and process design), Water & Soil Stewardship (safeguarding clean water and healthy soils), and Social Fairness (respecting human rights and contributing to a fair and equitable society). To achieve the Gold level certification, 100% of the ingredients have been assessed and optimized to the certificate’s requirements.

— Coty (the perfumery license holder, Ed’s note) has set ambitious clean and green roadmaps for the future and this notable and standard-setting sustainability recognition is a testament to our commitment,” says Dr. Shimei Fan, chief scientific officer, Coty.

— We applaud Coty for setting a new standard — it is a significant positive step in moving the beauty industry toward the universal use of products that are safe, circular and responsible, says Dr. Christina Raab, president and CEO at the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
