Exeger’s unique solar cell technology converts any form of light into electrical power, bringing endless energy to products through partnerships with leading companies on a global scale. The patented solar cell material Powerfoyle is resilient, flexible, and seamless and can be integrated into all products that benefit from being self-powered. It’s revolutionizing the perception of available energy and make products both smarter and more sustainable with the vision to improve everyday lives of a billion people.
Swedish headphone company Urbanista just launched the new Urbanista Los Angeles model. The brand describes it as the world’s first self-charging, wireless, active noise cancelling headphones. Powered by Powerfoyle, it converts all forms of light, outdoor and indoor, into energy to deliver virtually infinite playtime. Just an hour spent outside on a sunny day generates three hours of playtime. If it’s a cloudy day, you still get two hours of playtime for every hour spent outside. The headphones even charge in ambient light — wearing them indoors in a well-lit room or office will keep the headphones charging. When you’re not using them, you can just leave them by the window for an hour to add another full hour of playtime.
— Urbanista Los Angeles is everything we stand for as a brand, in a product. Bringing together innovation, sustainability and all the features you could wish for in a headphone, it’s designed for someone who lives an on the go lifestyle. We are proud to partner with Exeger, and their cutting edge technology, to bring a world first to market, comments Anders Andreen, CEO of Urbanista.
— This is the start of a revolution in consumer electronics. I strongly believe that once users experience the freedom of endless energy, there’s no way we’re going back to plugging a USB charger into the wall. We are extremely excited about this product and confident that people around the world are going to love it, says Exeger’s CEO Giovanni Fili.
Exeger recently teamed up with sports helmets and apparel company POC for the launch of Omne Eternal — the world’s first self-powered cycling helmet with endless energy. To enhance a rider’s safety on the road, it features an automatic and self-powered light, which also uses Powerfoyle and never needs charging with a cable or activation from an on or off switch.
The user’s experience is designed to be seamless, but as is often the case, the technology behind such innovations is highly complex. POC and Exeger have been working closely since 2019 to build and test a variety of systems that have resulted in the helmet, which to most users will look much the same as any other helmet.
— Safety and innovation are at the very center of our approach. We can all see the very positive shift towards cycling for transport, health, and recreation, but with that change comes the well-documented safety worries and risks that cyclists feel when sharing the road. The Omne Eternal may be a world’s first, featuring groundbreaking solar cell technology, but our focus has been to provide riders with the mentioned enhanced safety and seamless user experience. Simply placing the helmet on the head will automatically activate the technology, enhancing safety without ever needing to think about it. And it supports all our efforts towards a more sustainable environment, says Jonas Sjögren, CEO of POC, adding,
— Our ”Whole helmet concept” illustrates that in today’s world a helmet can, and should, do significantly more than manage impacts. By integrating digital solutions we can protect a user before, during, and after an accident. Integrating Powerfoyle opens a world of new opportunities, creating helmets with an endless power source is the key to unlocking new ideas and innovations which have the potential to revolutionize safety.
— POC is known for its open-minded and innovative approach to safety and is rightly recognized as the leader in the field, shares Exeger’s CEO, Giovanni Fili. Over the past decade, we’ve developed the new generation of fully customizable, durable, and sustainable solar cells, creating what others deemed impossible — an innovation with the potential to deliver clean endless energy and to re-define the energy from light. We are incredibly excited to be part of the release of the Omne Eternal, which represents a new era of smart helmets to enhance safety for any rider, anywhere in the world.
